An ABC Primer Collection by Graphic 45

My twin Grandson's are my subjects for most of my pictures.  They are so darn cute and I love them to pieces.   I can not wait until their little sister is born, the trio will make for awesome pictures to come.

I found an old 4 window pane and it is the subject of my crafty-ness today. (like I am a pro...lmbo).   We had so much fun on this day.  We were out by the fire pit roasting marshmallow and the boys were busy pulling the bark off of the fire wood and tossing them into the fire.   Sparks flew and we hard lots of of "ohhh'ss and "wow".    We now have bark-less fire wood..lol

In this project I play with Graphic 45's An ABC Primer Collection paper line.  I love the colors and the textures this line had to offer.  Of course, I am and HUGE fan of Graphic 45.  They have such awesome stuff!!!!

I mounted the "back" paper on the back side of the glass, then I mounted the actual pictures and embellishments on the front side of the glass.  It really give the project a 3D kind of appearance.   I love to work with these old windows. They are so really cool!!

Please let me know if you like this, I would love to hear form you.
Have a grand day!!!

My Minds Eye, Stella and Rose

My son and his wife are having their 3rd child this coming December.   They have already blessed us with Twin Grandon's and now we will have our Grand Daughter... Oh My!!!... clothes, dolls, secrets and pictures...I am getting ready for the change in thought process and looking at pinks, soft pastels, bling and flowers and and and....must practice.
So, here I go, playing with papers, colors, designs that are softer and more girly....lol.  Don't worry Logan and Ethan, Grandma will still be taking lots of pictures of you two.   Your not going to get out of be my best subjects.. hehehe.

The paper is My Minds Eye, Stella & Rose.  I used Tim Holtz Distressed Ink to distress the edges.  The color I used was Old Paper.  Then I tossed in some dollies and flowers and rhinestones.    I will love the practice...lol

Boo Box

I just love it when the Twins are over for a visit.  I get to take pictures of them, even if they don't want me too...lol.   A recent visit had them both playing games and making faces.  I took one of those pictures and copied it in black and white and used it on a Holloween project.   Take a look below and see how it turned out..

I used Echo Parks A Apothecary Emporium Holloween paper line.  Most of the ribbon is randome ribbon that I have in my 'supply'.  I used Graphic 45 bling, Tim Holtz Distressed ink.

I hope you enjoyed this and thanks for stopping by.

Labor day visit

My Son and his wife (she is a cutie) are expecting their 3rd child in December, so I went shopping.. (like I need an excuse).   Drove over to Moses Lake  and delivered to them a crib, carset/carrier, high chair and a box plump full if little sweet girlie things!!!!....  A Girl!!!..  Autumn Grace.  Such a pretty name.   I can not wait to hold that precious, sweet baby in my arms.   I wonder if she will look like her brothers?..hummm... if she does, Daddy needs to have a stun gun for all the little boys in the neighborhood....lol

Logan and Ethan (twins) are now 61/2 years old and just entered the 1st grade.  We had so much fun playing and laughing and rough housing around.  Dad was none to happy with Grandma...heheheheh.   We took the boys and their dog, Sage, on a nice long walk.  I was ready for knap when we got done...well almost.  Their dog has more energy than the boys do, combined!!... Boys and their dog.. such a good thing.

Whew! Wow! Yippee!

This past month has been a wild ride.

I studied like crazy for two big test and passed them both. The stress and tension around this event has been see and felt by every one I am around.  The pure relief I felt once I saw "PASS" on both, well, it was un-measurable.  The new ground this will bring is going to be awesome.  Wait...I can tell more later this month.

Regarding my garden, I had struggled for months to get it to take hold. There has been just to much rain and a very late freeze (May) and I started my garden 3 times. Lately, we have had such nice weather and sun it is now gaining on me and if I do not stay up with it, it will take over fast. I can see lots of canning for the next 2 months.  Every weekend, in the kitchen, cleaning, cutting and waiting on the timer to tell me the canner is done.    We will benefit from this, this coming winter.  Lots of hard work but so worth it.

On another note, The Hens' Den has been doing to well.  They have had several events lately that have been so awesome, can not wait until they go to another one.   The Scrapbook Expo in Puyallup was a great success for them and that was on the heals of two horse shows they went too.   In November, they plan on being in Bellevue Wa for the Creating Keepsakes event.   I will be working that show as well.   It is so much fun and I get to meet so many wonderful people and vendors.  Please stop by and say Hi to all of us. We would love to meet you!!

Finally, I am going to be a Grandma again.  My Son and his beautiful wife, Melanie, are go to bless us with a Granddaughter this time.  I can not tell you how over the top "Happy" I am.  Her name is Autumn Grace.  I have found a new addiction...Baby Girl cloth shopping!!!.  Every time I am in a store now, my cart "pulls" me into the baby department and when I leave, my cart is full of goodies.  I have no idea how they all got in there, but I felt guilt and could not put them back, so I checked out and took them home.....lolololol.

I am now looking at scrap booking supplies in a whole new way.  Pinks, Pastels and frilly goodies.   I am so "in love"...  Now, do not take me wrong, I love my twin Grandsons (Logan and Ethan) and I buy them lots of things but buying girlie goodies...well, that is so darn much fun!!!
As I think about it, it is only August.  She is due in early December and then there is Christmas!!!!!.... I will get my spending addiction well taken care of...lololololol.  (Bad Grandma)

That's it for now.   Stop by The Hens' Den and see what they have in the store and come see us in November in Bellevue Washington.

Have a great rest of August!!!

Weekend visit

We had so much fun this past weekend with our Grandson's.  They came to visit and WOW...they have grown so much.   I just wanted to hug and squeeze them the entire time. But that is not going to happen with 6 yr olds..no way.  That hugging thing is "yuckie"....lol.

We had a bonfire and roasted marshmellows, until they burned their sticks...oh well.  Play with firs, burn your stick, no more marshmellows....

So, they moved onto tearing off the bark from the fire wood and tossed it in the fire.  That kept them busy for an hour.  It is so interesting to watch and see what peaks their interests.  Pulling bark of wood would not be one of my "fun" times.....lol

My Daughter-in-law had a baby shower (we are going to have a girl...YAHOO) and with all the gifts that she and the baby were getting, I was worried the boys would feel left out.  So, I bought them new back packs for school.  They will be in the first grade this year.  They wore those back packs the entire visit....I guess I did good....

The Broom

There are memories we all have of our childhood and as I look back through really old pictures of me (just had a birthday lately and I do feel old..lol) and I found one that brings back such good memories.

In 1958, when I was 3 years old, my Mom was a Sunday School Teacher and I would go with her and spend the day.   My task, was to sweep up the class room when she was done.  I honestly think it was her way of keeping me busy and out of her way while she did her thing...lol.

In this picture, I am 3 and the broom is a big as I am.  I remember this and I smile big when I think of how I struggled with that broom and trying to hold it like my Mom showed me.   The only way I could accomplish that was to sweep the floor toward me.  All that dust was at my feet and that was not the way it was when my Mom did it...But I was determined and it was my job...lol

I apologize for the condition of the photo, but I just could not use any other remake or copy.  This is the original and it has a lot of meaning to me.  Good memories!!

Please stop by The Hen's Den blog and see the wonderful work from our other design team members.  Leave us a note and let us know that you were there.  Please follow them, if you like.
Have a grand day and I hope to see you soon

I feel old...lol

Living in Washington State, you have to take advantage of every sunny day there is.   So, this weekend was sunny for 2, count them, 2 days in a row.. WOW... I spent so much of the time bent over weeding and pruning and planting, I woke up this morning feeling like I had ages 10 years.

It was all worth it, the yard is in awesome shape, plants have great color and bloom, so the only thing I am waiting on now is the garden to catch up with the time of year.   I wonder if I will be able to can my veggies this year or if we will run out of "summer" before I get the chance.

Over this past weekend, other things went very well and AWESOME...  We now have an additional desiger, Carla Oliveira.   We have followed her for a while and we just could not pass up the chance to offer her an opportunity to design for The Hens' Den.   SHE ACCEPTED!.   You really need to check out her blog and see the wonderful work that she does.   http://carlascuriouslycraftychaos.blogspot.com/.   You will be amazed.  We are so lucky and honored.   Stop by her blog and leave her a note or two.

Have a grand day!!!!!
